Mona Fouad, MD MPH
Dr. Fouad, Professor of Medicine and Director of the Division of Preventive Medicine, Director of the Minority Health and Health Disparities Research Center, and Senior Scientist in the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center, is recognized nationally as a leader in health disparities research and is a member of the NIH National Advisory Council on Minority Health and Health Disparities. She serves as PI on numerous federally funded projects, most with the common theme of improving health and preventing disease in minorities. She is the PI of the current NIMHD-funded P60 Center of Excellence at UAB.
Raegan Durant, MD MPH
Raegan W. Durant, MD, MPH, is an Associate Professor in the University of Alabama at Birmingham Division of Preventive Medicine. Dr. Durant also studies multi-level barriers in recruitment of minorities into clinical trials as possible targets for system and behavioral interventions to increase diversity in research study populations. Dr. Durant also studies the intersection of psychosocial factors with cardiovascular disease outcomes in minority populations. In addition, Dr. Durant serves at the Medical Director at Cooper Green Mercy Health Services, a publicly-funded ambulatory care safety-net provider for uninsured and low-income residents of Jefferson County, AL.
Michelle Martin, PhD
Dr. Martin is an Associate Professor in the UAB Division of Preventive Medicine and a Scientist in the Center for Outcomes Research, Comprehensive Cancer Center and Minority Health and Health Disparities Research Center (MHRC). Dr. Martin specializes in cancer survivorship and has led several efforts to understand treatment preferences in cancer survivors and the experience of cancer caregivers.
